Justin and one of his proteges in action
Growing up as a street tumbler in small town Columbus, Mississippi, Justin expressed his love for the arts at an early age. However, it wasn’t until he was older that he ever got any formal training. In high school Justin joined Dance Xpress where he learned various forms of dance such as lyrical, swing, jazz, and hip hop. He also learned that with dance he could use his acrobatic skills to enhance his performance.
After graduating Justin moved to Atlanta where he began dancing with Terrie Axam and Atlanta’s Total Dance Company. With Total Dance he studied Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop, Mojah, West African Dance, and Modern/Horton.
He also performed for The Black Arts Festival, UniverSoul Circus, and Mega Fest as well as numerous other shows. Dance and Performing became Justin's passion but in order to grow he felt the need to start back tumbling. So he began training with Extreme Tumbling Training Center. Within a year he not only reached level 9 in tumbling but also became Georgia’s State and Regional Champion. He also placed 13th in the nation as a level 9 tumbler. In his second year he began training with All World gymnastics in Warren, MI. There he scored out of level 10 at the seasons first meet and became a Junior Elite Power Tumbler.
Currently, Justin is back in Atlanta building his career as a performer, he signed with Xcel Talent Agency and is training and teaching at Got2Dance Atlanta and The D’AIR Project. Recent work includes International print ads with Coca Cola/Source Magazine and Converse/Footlocker, performing with Cirque du Soleil at the grand opening of the new Coca Cola museum, working with TBS doing a "Very Funny Commercial" and PBS touring with the T.V. kids show "Raggs". He has is also featured in the up and coming Tyler Perry movie 'Can Do Bad All By Myself'. With hard work and perseverance Justin has found that the sky is the limit so he always reaches for the stars.
